We refer to "Jane" as our sweetest pet. We first saw Jane in 1981 when Mrs. Wear showed her as a puppy in Fairfield, Connecticut. After repeated attempts, we eventually persuaded Mrs. Wear to sell her to us. Buoy (Ch. Sporting Field's Clansman) was the inspiration that resulted in the litter that produced Jane. Mrs. Wear said her best chance to get one like Buoy was to go directly to the source - Buoy's sire, English import Ch. Charmoll Clansman. We bred Jane only once, to Ch. Stoney Meadows North Star. That litter included Broadstrider's Keltis and our first home-bred champion, Ch. Broadstrider's Local Hero. |
